Innovative InvoicesThe ProblemFor many years Lytec has worked to create a great practice management system, robust, rich in features and data entry friendly; however, it had an Achilles heal when it came to patient statements . Lytec has two distinct types of built in statements, one which compares all Debits with all Credits, and one which compares patient balances with Insurance balances. This system works fine if there are one or two billing numbers, but once the statement exceeds one page, it often becomes very difficult for the patients to figure out which bills have been paid, and which dates of service the payments correlate to. With the 2007 version, Lytec introduced a feature called “subtotal by bill” which helped, but still does not tell the patient what they owe. What Lytec is missing is something called a “remainder statement”. The SolutionThe idea of the remainder statement is not unusual; in fact many of Lytec’s competitors, including McKesson’s own Medisoft, offer these unique kinds of statements. While ideally it would be best if you could generate a remainder statement from within Lytec, it simply cannot be done. In order to meet the demands of an ever growing list of clients requesting this feature, S&A decided to develop the solution. How it WorksInnovative Invoices takes the patient statement information from Lytec in the form of a text file. This allows you to use all the same features and functionality in Lytec to generate your batch of statements, including balance forward formats, excluding paid billings, and all of the ranges and filters you would normally have available to you. Innovative Invoices then takes the information which Lytec supplies and uses a proprietary algorithm to categorize each detail line as a Charge, Patient Payment, Insurance Payment, or Adjustment, calculating not only the amount not covered by insurance, but tracking which dates of service each of the payments or adjustments correlate to. The ResultThe result is an invoice which can not only be easily read and understood by the average patient, it can be summarized by either date of service or billing number, vastly reducing the amount of paper required to report a patient’s balance. Innovative Invoices will save you not only paper and mailing costs, but countless hours of telephone calls, explaining statements to your patients! PricingInnovative Invoices carries a competitive retail price of just $499 per installation. FAQs
